Deborah ‘Debbie’ Leslie DeBrot

Deborah “Debbie” Leslie DeBrot, 74, of Mears, passed away unexpectedly Saturday, August 29, 2026. She was born October 10, 1951, in Fremont, Michigan, the daughter of Woodrow and Claudia (Smith) Hasty.
Debbie devoted her life to serving God, her family, and her community with grace, hard work, and love. Throughout her life, she worked as a hairdresser, served her local township during tax season, and faithfully gave her time as a church treasurer. Above all, her true calling was her home and family. She was an amazing person and the strong anchor that held her family together through every season of life. Debbie spent her life selflessly taking care of others, never asking for help herself, but always giving it freely.
Debbie is survived by: her loving husband, Richard; children, Eric (Ever) DeBrot and Philip (Stacey) DeBrot; grandchildren, Guinevere, Jennifer, Olivia, Kayla, Gabrielle, and Noah; as well as many nieces, nephews, extended family members, and dear friends.
Debbie was preceded in death by: her parents, Woodrow and Claudia Hasty, and her sister, Kimberley Leslie.
A celebration of Debbie’s life and luncheon will be held on Saturday, September 5, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., at Mears Methodist Church, 1990 N. 56th Ave., Mears, MI 49436.
