Hart took on some more high-level opponents Saturday at the Grand Haven Invitational and was competitive, posting a 2-2 record.
Each
of Hart's first three matches went the maximum three games. The Pirates
(11-5-3) opened the day with a close loss to Zeeland East, 25-16,
21-25, 15-11, then defeated NorthPointe Christian (25-22, 20-25, 15-9)
and Greenville (25-22, 19-25, 15-12). They ended their day with a 25-17,
25-17 loss to Midland Dow.
"The girls played hard all day against some great
competition and definitely held their own," Hart coach Shawn Bectel said.
Reese
Smith led Hart offensively with 30 kills and was second on the team in
digs, with 32. Alayna Schiller paced the defense with 60 digs. Smith and
Peyton Erickson had six blocks each.
Grace
Tucker had 46 assists and Calyn Eisenlohr added 35. At the service
line, Tucker led with four aces, and the Pirates were impressive all
day, with only 10 errors across four matches.
