Hart soccer ends regular season with loss to WMC champ Ludington

Hart couldn't stop the runaway train that's been the Ludington Orioles Wednesday night, taking a 3-0 defeat to the West Michigan Conference champs. The Orioles were an unbeaten 9-0-1 in conference play this year.
"Ludington played well in every aspect and maintained possession against the Pirates for much of the game," Hart coach Guillermo Ortega said. "The Orioles executed their set pieces very well and scored all three of their goals from set pieces. The Pirates had good opportunities and even hit the post a couple of times, but Ludington's defense was solid and didn't allow many other chances for us."
Hart still, though, finished the season an impressive third place in the WMC, at 5-2-3 (9-3-4 overall). Only longtime powers Ludington and North Muskegon finished ahead of the Pirates.
"Very proud of the boys this season, as they have completely flipped this program around, and I have no doubt we can make a good run in the postseason," Ortega said.
