Shelby routed Hesperia Monday night in the first round of the district tournament in Scottville, 79-28, to advance to the semifinals against top seed North Muskegon.
The Tiger offense was very impressive early, ringing up 27 first-quarter points and 26 in the following frame to build a daunting 53-19 lead at halftime.
"Shelby's
pressure defense created numerous turnovers which led to several easy
buckets," Hesperia coach Scott Warsaw said.
Andrew Arquette had a huge night for the Tigers (9-14), scoring 27 points. Leighton Belasco chipped in 11. Malakai Sellers' 14 points paced Hesperia, which ended the season at 4-16.
