Montague golf finishes 4th, Whitehall 6th at Fremont Jamboree

Montague finished fourth, with Whitehall in sixth, at Thursday's Fremont Jamboree as West Michigan Conference Lakes play winds down.
The Wildcats scored a 171, 14 strokes behind winner Ludington. Whitehall had a tough day as a team and shot 188.
Michael Flanagan continued a breakout freshman season for Montague by leading the team in scoring with a 40 and shooting no worse than bogey on any hole. He tied for sixth overall.
Tanner DeVries also placed in the top 10, coming in 10th with a 41. David Gowin shot a 44, and Ethan Balon had a 46 to cap the scoring.
Clayton Betz paced the Vikings with a 42, followed by Gabe Gilbert with a 45. Finn Novy shot a 49, and Brooks Westerlund had a 52.
